Does Meso Maya offer buffet style?
No, we do not. Due to the fact that we are a chef-driven restaurant and the quality/freshness of the food, the chef does not recommend nor offer this option

What applies towards my minimum?
All food & beverage including cash bar purchases during your event.

What is a final guest count?
When the event is booked you give an approximate guest count because you typically can’t be certain when you booked exactly how many people are going to be able to attend. As you get closer to your event date, you have a much better idea of exactly how many people will be attending. The final count is the minimum number of guests you will be financially responsible for. If less people end up attended, you will still be charged for the final count given since that’s what the restaurant prepared for. If more show up, you will be charged for the additional guests over the final count.

When is my final guest count due?
We ask that you provide your final guest count 2 weeks prior to your event. While we will do our best to accommodate any minor changes, we ask that there are no changes made within the week prior to your event. We cannot accept any same day changes to guest count.

When does my menu have to be finalized?
Your final menu is due 1 week before your event. After that point, all menus are final and sent to our kitchen.

I want appetizers to be passed by servers. Can you guys do that?
Yes.

Can I bring in my own food?
No. All food must come from our kitchen unless special permission is granted for items we do not or cannot carry.

Can I bring in my own dessert?
Yes. You are welcome to bring in any dessert we do not offer in store.

Can I have El Fenix food brought into the Meso Maya/La Ventana space?
No. They are separate kitchens and brands. All food must come from the Meso Maya kitchen.

Is there a discount for kids?

I don’t like your house wines. Can I upgrade them?
Yes. We have other in house options you can upgrade to for a cost. All wine is charged by the bottle.

My underage child will be attending the rehearsal dinner and is in the wedding party. Will he be able to drink if I, his parent, am there and monitoring him?
No. We have a zero tolerance underage drinking policy. Our bartenders will card anyone that might possibly be a minor. Our managers will card at tables if he feels a parent is abusing the issue.

Do you guys offer champagne toasting?
Yes. It is charged by the bottle.

How many toast size servings can I get out of one bottle of champagne?
Typically there are 6 toast servings/10 ½ glasses in each bottle.

Can I bring in my own whiskey/scotch/vodka/gin to the event? It’s a special reserve and will only be available to a certain group of people.
No. Per TABC we cannot allow you or anyone at your event to consume alcohol not purchased and served by our restaurant. If seen with such a bottle, the banquet captain will politely let the person know that they need to remove the bottle from the premises or we will have to dispose of it.

Okay, if I can’t bring it in, can I buy it through you?
Yes, just let us know what exactly you’d like brought in and we’ll give the pricing per drink.

Can I buy it by the bottle?
No. We cannot sell you liquor by the bottle. We can only legally sell it to you by the drink. This does not apply to wine or champagne.

Can I have candles with flames?
Yes, you’re more than welcome to have candles with flames. We require them to be in a vase.

Do you offer any decorations I can rent?
No. Unfortunately we do not have any decorations available, even to rent.

Can I bring my decorations in a few days early and have you store them?
No. For liability and space reasons, we cannot and will not store decorations. Everything must be brought in during your set-up time.

Do you offer other colored linens?
No, but you are more than welcome to bring them.

If I bring in my own napkins and have you guys roll them?
Yes, if you drop them off the day of or day before your event our staff will roll our silverware in them for you.

Will your staff fold and set out my napkins instead of roll them in silverware?
No. If you want your napkins set out/folded instead of rolled you will need to it yourself.

Can I put a sign downstairs in the restaurant so guests know my event is upstairs?
The hostess and cashiers will know the name of your party and will direct guests accordingly. However, you can put a sign up near the private entrance stairway.

Will someone be there to help me carry my decorations upstairs?
No. For liability reasons, we cannot help or dedicate staff to help carry your decorations. Please plan accordingly when planning decorations and set-up time. *this also applies to taking anything to guest cars at the end of the night. Our staff can help once in the room with rearranging tables, etc.

When does staff arrive?
The Meso Maya event staff arrives on site 2 hours before the event to begin setting up for your event. During this time they will set up the bar, patio, chairs and silverware.

When can my guests get into the room?
Guests will be allowed into the room 15 minutes prior to your event time. Please plan accordingly.

Yes. It is very important that you let us know what vendors will be making deliveries or setting things up for your event. Please give us a week’s notice on all vendors for your event.
